I think the joke here is that the media (and everyone who pays attention to it) doesn’t understand how the internet works.
I mad.

“I feel like ctrl-alt-deleting myself”
lol

Wow… you couldn’t even figure out how to make it make sense? Ctrl-Alt-Delete (and the assumed steps to end process) kills a process (like any OS). Just as a human is killed… his body does not get deleted (matter cannot be created nor destroyed). You’re not even a nerd, now.

Oh lawdy. xD

Even if you delete a file, it still exists and can be recovered, so what you just explained applies to a regular file deletion, too. Eventually, that file you deleted becomes HD space again, the same way a buried body eventually decomposes. Of course, the resurrection of a person is much less likely than the recovery of a recently deleted file.
A CTRL+ALT+DEL is like ending a process/your life and then restarting it. Deleting a file/your life is like letting it turn into HD space/decompose.

When you originally said “only lets you close stuff not exactly delete” … that exhibits your assumption that the guy was talking about deleting himself when in fact he only said Ctrl+Alt+Delete which ends the instance of a program (defined as a set of files with potentially infinite manifestations). There is nothing deleted from Ctrl+Alt+Delete except the pointers to the memory allocated for the ‘closed’ instance of the program. This is analogous to the neural activity no longer functioning

If you read the letter, it’s a phishing scam. my room mate fell for one of these and lost $500. He was more pissed off about the fact that he wasn’t going to be dating the “girl” from the letter. Poor guy LOL!

How am I supposed to rebuild my life with the “pieces” of my Flickr album? That sonofabitch Tipton destroyed everything with his hotshot multitasking. Is anyone else with me in going after Frankenstein’s monster?
