My favorite is the guy at 1:34, “Owns Home Computer.”
It was simpler time, when the act of owning a computer was enough to get your face on the nightly news.

watch till the end when the lady says “it takes over 5 hours to download the whole newspaper, and at $5 per hour cost, its still no competition for the 20 cent paper”
then a little knowing grin. .. lol

The proto-form of the internet was actually created by the U.S.A. military, during the 1960s.
I believe it was created by D.A.R.P.A. or N.O.R.A.D.
(It’s late here. I don’t feel like thinking anymore. I’m going to sleep now. Goodnight/morning)

Actually, this is not primitive Internet, it is COMPU$ERVE. CI$ offered a gateway to the Internet via CIM (Compuserve Information Manager) which was crummy in the extreme. To call CI$ a primitive Internet is like calling a telegraph a primitive television.

its funny how elite they act about it.
Well i guess it was big deal though. i mean we didnt even discover cars until 1800

Fair enough. The whole title of this video should have been “Beginning of the end of print journalism” but my first impression of my report as I uploaded it was that it was the beginning of personal online computing … hence the Internet.

So back in 1981 the nerds who used new applications and helped by that developing the internet were really old people.
