Sir Richard Branson has unveiled the rocket plane he will use to take fare-paying passengers into space.
SpaceShipTwo was presented to the world in Mojave, California.

November Auto Sales: Toyota sales rise 2.6 percent

TORRANCE, Calif. – Toyota Motor Sales USA said Tuesday its sales rose 2.6 percent last month from a year earlier, led by gains in its popular Camry and Prius models.
BY THE NUMBERS: Sales rose to 133,700 vehicles in November, from 130,307 in the same month in 2008. For the year so far, sales are down 23.2 percent.
HOT MODELS: Consumers continued to flock to Toyota’s fuel-efficient models, driving up sales of the Camry and Camry Hybrid by a combined 8.6 percent. Sales of the popular Prius hybrid rose 11.1 percent.

HELSINKI (Reuters) – Top mobile phone maker Nokia said on Tuesday it filed suits in Britain and the United States last week alleging a number of leading technology firms operate cartels for mobile phone and monitor displays.
Nokia said the suits followed government investigations in the United States, Europe and elsewhere, and other civil suits already filed in the U.S. A spokesman declined to say how much the firm was seeking in damages.

Infineon, Nokia co-operate on next mobile generation

FRANKFURT (Reuters) – Chipmaker Infineon has moved one step closer to supplying chips for high-end devices of Nokia by announcing a collaboration to create chips for the next mobile network generation.
Infineon, which already supplies chips to Nokia — the world’s largest maker of mobile phones — said on Wednesday the cooperation was aimed at making Nokia’s current and future modem technology work with Infineon’s transceiver chips.

Founders Win a Piece Of Skype From EBay

SAN FRANCISCO — EBay has formally settled the litigation around its sale of the Skype online calling service.
The founders of Skype, Niklas Zennstrom and Janus Friis, will drop their lawsuits against the company and a consortium of buyers whose bid to purchase 65 percent of Skype was announced last month, according to an announcement released by eBay before the opening of the stock markets on Friday.
As part of the complex agreement, the founders will own a 14 percent stake in the new Skype and receive two seats on the board.

Google Beats Microsoft in The E-Mail Battle of Los Angeles

Google unanimously won the battle with Microsoft for the right to move Los Angeles’ 30,000 municipal employees to its emai system, knocking out Novell’s GroupWise platform for the $7.25 million contract.
The Los Angeles City Council voted 12-0 Oct. 27 in favor of using Gmail over Microsoft Office Outlook. The city plans to complete implementation of the Google system by June and will begin with a pilot period during which a limited number of employees will test the system, according to The Los Angeles Times, which reported the news first.

SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) – Twitter received $100 million in funding on Friday, valuing the company at $1 billion, according to a person familiar with the matter, as investors bet that the Web company’s explosive growth will yield actual revenue or a lucrative deal.
